Is ‘Under The Skin’ Scarlett Johannson’s ‘The Shining’?

There’s a part in Jonathan Glazer’s Under The Skin where, without giving anything away, Scarlett Johannson walks completely naked through a black void. You are not watching The Sexiest Woman Alive, nor the movie star you know and love. Instead, you are essentially watching a fly get caught in a spider’s web, and it’s one of the most breathtaking performances I’ve seen in long, long time. It reminded me a lot of Jack Nicholson’s career-changing turn in The Shining, a comparison that might seem like a stretch until you look at it a bit more closely.

Most children, Asher Svidensky says, are a little intimidated by golden eagles.
Kazakh boys in western Mongolia start learning how to use the huge birds to hunt for foxes and hares at the age of 13, when the eagles sit heavily on their undeveloped arms.
Svidensky, a photographer and travel writer, shot five boys learning the skill - and he also photographed Ashol-Pan.
"To see her with the eagle was amazing," he recalls. She was a lot more comfortable with it, a lot more powerful with it and a lot more at ease with it."

In between watching all my shows, I just finished listening to two more Philip K. Dick books so I’m questioning reality again.

I have like, 50 shows in rotation now

How come no one told me that The Following was SO FUCKING GOOD?

I watch it and I’m yelling at the tv….I’m so nervous I’m sick to my stomach…. I’m cheering like my favorite team won the Superbowl…..I’m whimpering no, no, no. This happens during every roller coaster episode.

It’s everything i could ask for except for a crush on the main character.
